Phillip Grieve Appointed COO – Hover UAV is proud to announce the promotion of Phillip Grieve to Chief Operating Officer (COO), marking an exciting new chapter in the company’s journey as a leader in the uncrewed aviation sector.

Phillip brings a wealth of experience to the role, with over 15 years of operational, regulatory, and consultancy expertise in both civil and defence Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS). His career has spanned senior military positions, including Chief Remote Pilot and RPAS Standards Officer in the Australian Army, through to his most recent leadership role as Senior Consultant and Team Lead at Hover UAV.

Phillip’s background uniquely positions him to lead the team into the next phase of innovation and growth. With a deep understanding of aviation safety, policy development, and complex operational planning, he has played a pivotal role in delivering first-of-their-kind regulatory approvals, driving standardisation, and building trusted relationships not only with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA), but also with aviation authorities around the world.

Known for his leadership, integrity, and commitment to safety and compliance, Phillip has been instrumental in developing methodologies that expand the operational capability of RPAS across industries ranging from defence and infrastructure to emergency services and beyond.
