Celebrating Excellence: Phillip Grieve Receives Australian Defence Force Command Commendation

Huge congratulations to one of our own—Phillip Grieve, Chief Operating Officer at Hover UAV—who has been awarded an Australian Defence Force Command Commendation by DASA.
Phillip was recognised for his noteworthy achievements in developing the DASR.UAS(35)g standard scenario, designed to support limited UAS operations over non-defence-controlled land and water. This milestone was only made possible through the collaborative efforts of Hover UAV, MURU Consulting, and DASA—a partnership that continues to shape the future of uncrewed aviation within Defence.
His comprehensive UAS knowledge and proactive leadership were critical in guiding the development of this standard, enabling a safer and more scalable approach to Defence UAS integration. Phillip’s work has made a lasting impact on current and future Defence capabilities, and this commendation reflects his ongoing commitment to excellence in aviation safety and regulatory development.
This achievement also highlights the importance of cross-sector collaboration in building a regulatory framework that supports innovation while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
We’re incredibly proud to have worked alongside the brilliant teams at MURU Consulting and DASA on this initiative. Congratulations, Phillip—your leadership and dedication continue to elevate both Hover UAV and the broader UAS community.
