Airwards Winner – Hover UAV, Consultancy 21/22

Airwards Winner Hover UAV

Receiving international recognition, Hover UAV has this year been announced as the main category winner for consultancy at the annual Airwards 21/22.

Over 120 global submissions were judged by 38 drone experts and business leaders to award this year’s 18 Airwards main category winners. Announced during the second-ever Airwards Winners’ Week (23-31 May 2022), the winners have been recognised by Airwards as the pinnacle in innovative, responsible, and impactful projects made possible with drones.

Identifying malaria mosquito breeding sites; delivering urgent health supplies to remote communities; tracking Pangolin poachers; locating people faster in disaster relief operations; measuring methane to reduce carbon emissions, and educating children in drones with a STEM-themed Mars flight training mission – are just some of the groundbreaking, lifesaving and pioneering drone projects to be awarded in the 2021/22 Airwards.

Airwards winner was Hover UAV for the ‘Consultancy’ category for its innovative comms-in-a-box and remote operations center solution for BVLOS vehicles. The solution allows RPAS operations from anywhere in the country, meaning organisations no longer require onsite personnel. By packaging an affordable solution to BVLOS, and its communication needs, more innovators are going to be able to use drones to meet the needs of a variety of customers across security, public health, and logistics.

What Airwards Judges said:

“This is a really innovative and strong safety case, saving the company a significant amount of money and the total time required to complete the field operations because the drone pilot team can operate the drones remotely without being on the site. There is a strong value proposition to pilots and companies and it clearly demonstrates the benefits over traditional remotely piloted drone use”.
